Phew! It has been a long while since I updated! Sorry! Our internet kinda sucks at this new apartment so it is hard to stay on top of these things. However, we will be moving very soon and that problem will hopefully be fixed! If you need our new mailing address (for in Hanna) let me know and I can send it your way :)
Soooo in life a lot has happened. Brandon is finishing up his last class and his internship before graduation and come August 3, 2012 he will officially be a college graduate!! I am so proud of him and so happy that he has accomplished this goal!
As of the beginning of this month, we adopted a puppy to add to our family! We drove into Cheyenne and went to the animal shelter where we met Snickers (lab/border collie mix) puppy. We fell in love and decided that it was time we get a dog! She has been pretty wonderful so far and has already learned to sit and lay down and is just about kennel trained. She barks when she needs to go outside to the bathroom and has only nibbled a little on things around the house. She is so much fun and we are very glad to have her. We thought she was going to be small when we first met her 5 lb self but the way her paws are growing she might be much larger than we anticipated!
On the baby front, things are just as exciting as ever! We got past the shingles, and the cold, and the fifths disease.....and now we are on to new things! When we got back from visiting Alaska, the doctor noticed that my fundal height was not measuring as far along as it should be. After a sizing ultrasound and some monitoring, we found out that Caiden was only in the 16th percentile for size at his current gestational age. They were not too concerned and told me to take it easy...
Well, as things in life always do, it got more exciting. My last appointment, Caiden measured only in the 5.6 percentile range. If my fluids had not been doing well, we would have been induced immediately. Essentially, Caiden's head and leg measurements seem find but his belly is measuring particularly small for his age. He has plateaued on the charts and does not seem to be growing. All my fluids seem good and about the only other concern is that I have calcifications on my placenta. My doctor advised that unless he has a major growth spurt (which is very unlikely) we are most likely going to be induced around 37 weeks. He is for some reason or another not getting what he needs and therefore will thrive better outside of my little belly than inside of my belly. I will be 37 weeks on July 29th so we could meet Caiden a few weeks earlier than expected!
While this has added a bit of new stress to our situation as we are in the process of moving, planning classes for next year, and finishing school, we are both also very excited at the prospect of meeting our son. I will try to keep you posted through the chaos!
